AT&T Next question?

It is my understanding that in AT&T Next you pay for the phone up to maximum of 30 installments and afterwards you own the phone or you can trade it to upgrade the phone. So what if I want to upgrade maybe 3 years later --- do I still have to trade in my phone for the AT&T Next plan or can I opt to extend the 2 years on my contract to get a phone?

After your next plan is complete you can either sign another next plan or (if they still offer it) sign a two year contract for  subsidy pricing. After you make all the payments you do not have to trade your phone in to upgrade.
