AT&T Messages can't sign in with @ATT.NET account

I got a tablet from AT&T a few months ago, when I tried to sign into AT&T Messages for Tablet application with my AT&T access ID, which ends in @ATT.NET, it tells me "The User ID and Password you entered cannot be used to access this application.  Please sign in using youro AT&T Access ID instead."  This IS my AT&T access ID.  Same userid (e-mail) and password works from a browser.  At that time, I opened an issue and they got back to me and said there was a problem with @ATT.NET accounts.  But, here we are months later and it still doesn't work.

Seriously AT&T, how can this be so hard and take so long and even be allowed by your management to not allow ATT.NET accounts!??  This is not a userid/password problem as I can sign in with the exact same one to the browser version.  I would think a bug that affects att.net e-mails would be embarrassing and would have some priority with people there, but apparently not!?

Hello @RJSinMO,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the Community Forums! I know how important and convenient AT&T Messages can be. I will be glad to assist you with this!

Since you are unable to sign in to AT&T Messages using your AT&T Access ID because it is @att.net, we have a few options to recommend. You can try to load the AT&T Messages website through your web browser on your tablet. If possible, you can also try using your phone number as your login, instead of your AT&T Access ID.

I hope this information helps you! If you have any further questions or issues, please let us know. We are eager to help you!

Okay, it worked with my phone number as sign in and the same password.  Thank you, nobody suggested that before.  But, I still find it odd that there isn't some more priority in fixing the bug that isn't allowing @att.net email addresses.

Thank you for the update!

You are so very welcome! I am glad to hear using your phone number worked!

I’ll definitely make a note of this for you and will pass this along so it can get looked into; thank you for letting us knowing about it.  If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to come back!

This still is not working for me.  I use the same ID and password I use to get into my GoPhone info.  I'm using my phone number as ID.  Nothing really works.

Hello @DeAnnaN,

I am sorry to hear you are unable to sign in to AT&T Messages. If you are trying to use this service with a GoPhone account, it will not work. AT&T Messages requires a postpaid account. For more information on this, please visit: AT&T Messages.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Have a fantastic day!

Johnathan,

I attempted your solution and it did not work. I received the error message "hmm it looks like there is a problem."

The phone number solution did not work for me either.  I'm trying on a Trek 2 HD K88.

I can't sign in to Sbcglobal.net, I am able to get signed in on my PC but not on my iPhone 8.

I appreciate all of the help I can get.

I can't open my att.net email account. It suggested using the phone number which I did and it said no such number. I've used that number and am still paying for it each month. Attempts at other user names and/or passwords have failed.
