limit calls to 866-685-8469

Please limit the call outs to 866-685-8469 to once a month or once a week. I suspect that calling out 2, 3, or 4 times a day from so many receivers would flood Directv with tons of wasteful information. Any comments?

When DTV receivers are connected to a phone line they call in to check your account status and send error reports, you can unplug it unless you want caller id or it is not connected to the internet and you use the remote to pay for PPV.

We're all customers like you, so we can't do anything to limit those "phone homes" by your DirecTV Receivers.   If it bothers you, simply disconnect the phone line.  Nothing bad will happen.

Checking my numbers called out from the landline, I discovered my landline has called 866-*** several times, and I did not know this nor did I make the call.  Looking up the numnber I found the address to be Direct Modem Dialout.  Directv?  What is going on?

A bad thing that will happen is that you will lose caller id.
