cannot reconnect to wifi

Directv installed Genie last Saturday and since we live in Florida the best way to prevent surge is to unplug.  Have not been able to reconnect since.  Have called Directv and followed their instructions with the parting advice "wait 24 hrs".  This hasn't worked.  Looking for suggestions and a procedure to reestablish.  Using dash on remote says not connected.

There are some Directv boxes between my receivers and the dish. Do you

want the model numbers?

Jack

Yes, we need the model numbers.  Look closely.  "HR-500" is not full model number.  It would be something like "HR24-500".

I assume the HR44 was connected using your home's wireless WiFi internet?   Have you tried repeating the HR44's Network Setup from the Setup Menu?   Can you connect an ethernet cable to your home network router instead of using WiFi?

The wifi was connected using my home wireless internet. I have tried the

following from network setup:

Test Connection-system test, failed no dial tone (My home phone is

wireless) code 22073. I note the phone cable is plugged into the DVR.

Repeat Network set up, Receiver NOW connected to internet.

Went to extras, Pandora, there was a problem connecting to the internet.

Feel like I am going in circles.

I have not connected using an ethernet cable. I can move the PC and try it

and see what happens.

Regards,

Jack

Well I believe I might have found something. The IP address does not match

between my pc and the DVR. I have a Tor program enabled which hides the IP

address from services I use. I mentioned this to the installer and he said

it would not present a problem.

I took TOR out of my system (no mean task) and was able to reestablish

wifi, at least the system says it is. Not sure what else I can ask you to

do.
