How do you change zip code on receiver. Installer did not!
How can I get the correct system settings on my recevier? When I moved and the Direct TV installer came and left he did not reprogram the system settings and I think that might be why I am having trouble with channels.

Hit menu button

go to setting then press select on remote

go to setup and then select button

go to satellite and antena and press select

go to repeat satellite dish setup press select

press the dash button under the number 7 on your remote that looks like minus sign -

Make sure during this process you select the correct sat dish type or this along with the wrong zip code would cause issues with channels etc

There will be an option that ask you to enter your zip code and you are right this has to match the one on your account records or it won't properly load the local channels for you

None of the settings you can change will effect what channels you can or can't receive. If you are not receiving the channels you are allowed in your programming package, you need to try the following.

1. Reset the D12. Push the little red button by the access card.
2. Re-authorize your programming. You can do that yourself on-line by logging into DirecTV and following the troubleshooting links, or you can call a customer service rep and have them do it.

You might also want to check your satellite signal strength and make sure you have a good dish alignment. Most of your transponder signals should be in the high 80's or 90's (but some could be lower or zero).

also if you're not getting locals you might want to call customer service to make sure they have your correct address..
