Getting your Wireless Network Name and Password

If you are attempting to connect a device to your Netgear 7550 B90 wirelessly and you don't know your Wireless network name (SSID) and/or Wireless password, you should be able to find the default information by locating the Yellow label on the front side of your modem.

If your modem does not have the yellow label, you will need to perform the following steps from a computer or device that is currently connected to your AT&T network. You will not be able to complete these steps from the computer or device from which you are attempting to connect wirelessly.

1. Open a Web browser, and type 192.168.1.254 into the address bar, press Enter.
2. Locate the Blue column on the left side of the screen. Click on Wireless.
   
3. Enter the Modem Access Code, if prompted to do so. This code is located on the white label on the bottom of the modem.
   

4. Locate “Wireless Operations”, If Wireless is enabled, the Wireless Network Name (SSID) will be displayed in the Network Name (SSID) If Wireless is not enabled, click on the drop down arrow and select Enabled then the default Network Name will be displayed.
    

5. The existing Wireless Key (password) can be found next to either the WEP or WPA/WPA2 Network Key field, depending on the security type selected.
   
6. You may edit the network name (SSID) and network key fields to custom credentials for added network security or personal preference.  Once editing has been completed, click on the Save button to finalize the changes.

If you need to locate your Wi-Fi settings and have not previously changed the default Wi-Fi settings, locate the sticker on the side of your modem:

• The Wi-Fi network name is the word ATT (in all capital letters), followed by the last 3-digits of the gateway serial number (SN).
• The Wi-Fi password is a 10-digit number labeled Wireless Network Key.
• For Mac OS X users, you may need to enter the $ character at the beginning of the Wi-Fi password.
  

If you need to locate your Wi-Fi settings and have previously changed the default Wi-Fi settings, you will need to perform the following steps from a computer or device that's currently connected to your AT&T network. You will not be able to complete these steps from the computer or device from which you are attempting to connect wirelessly.

1. Open a Web browser and enter http://192.168.1.254 into the address bar, press Enter.
2. Click on the Settings
   
   
3. Select the LAN tab and the select Wireless.
    

4. In the Network section, the current Wi-Fi network name (SSID) will be displayed next to Network Name.
    

5. In the Security section, the current Wi-Fi password will be displayed next to Wireless Key.
6. If you have set a personalized key, the personalized key will not be visible. You may edit the network name (SSID) and wireless key fields to a custom preference for added network security. Once editing has been completed click on the Save button to finalize the changes.
7. You may be prompted for a password after clicking Save, Locate the Device Access Code on the bottom of the modem and enter it at this time.

*Note:

• If using the modem stand, the Device Access Code will be on the left side of the modem.
• If the modem says the Device Access Code is invalid, click the Password section under the Settings > System Info tab. Ensure that Use Default System password (printed on the base of the unit) is selected.
• If Use Default System Password is selected, this means the Device Access Code was incorrectly entered and should reenter it.
• If using a custom System password, you should enter your custom password when prompted to do so after making changes.
