Can anyone help get my R22 connected to my network?

Hi there-

I am hoping someone can help me with my issue, as I have spent 2 hours on the phone with DTV and no luck.  It's no wonder I am turning prematurely grey! Smiley Happy

I have the following set up:

Living Rm - HR24-200 and a wireless cinema kit

Bedroom - HR24-100

This configuration has been working great.  I can see the playlists on each receiver and also can access the internet or on demand content with no issues.

I have added a R22-100 in my basement and here is where the issue occurs.  I cannot connect to the network and cannot see the playlists on the other 2 DVR's.  No one at tech support on the phone can seem to figure it out.  The closest we have come to a solution is to connect an Ethernet cable directly to the R22 from my router.  When we connect the cable directly to the R22 I can then see the playlists from the other machines.

My issue is that I don't want to run a 100 foot cable from the 3rd floor to the basement just for this functionality, and according to tech support I shouldn't have to.

Anyone have any ideas? All help is welcomed and appreciated!!  Thanks!!

You could also move the wireless cck downstairs providing you have wifi signal

Down there and use a cat 5

Jumper from the cck to the r22

That would only connect this R22 to the internet, leaving the other two with no internet access,  you still would need a DECA adapter.

you can use that, but you will need a SWM 2 way splitter.

Even if you hook it up coax and cat 5 together I was sure it would work

What would the wiring config look like if I had a 2 way SWM splitter?

The problem is that I don't have a Cat5 that will reach it and don't want to run the cable.

No, the CCK-W can do one or the other but not both.

you would need to split the sat cable in two, one leg feeding the receiver along with a BSF, and the other leg to the DECA

BSF is Band Stop Filter.  it blocks the DECA frequencies so that it does not damage the satellite tuners.  it is built in on all DECAs

i'll have them send me one. I just wanted to get this working before the weekend since I'm having visitors. I think I can get a SWM splitter so I'll probably try that method. It's just so frustrating that tech support couldn't figure this out in 2 Hours on the phone! Ugh!

I'm sure they had good intentions I really suggest

You go with the receiver deca

Because it's plug and play

No bsf or splitter needed

But I learned something today

Thanks peds
