use Roku instead of cinema connection kit?

I have a Roku box; can I use it to connect the Genie to the internet, instead of buying a cinema connection kit?

Nope.

What model Genie do you have?   The HR34/HR44 can be connected directly to your home network via an ethernet cable.  No Cinema Connection Kit is needed.

A roku is a device that connects to the internet for things like Netflix, and hulu. It is not a wireless adapter. If you have an HR44 you may not need a cinema connection kit. And if you do, you can get them on Amazon. Make sure that it's wireless. You can currently get one new for about 30 dollars.
