We live in Central Ohio but the abc, cbs and fox local channels are coming out of Charleston W VA. We had this same problem a few weeks ago. I spoke with numerous chat people and none were able to help. It finally appeared to be fixed but last night we had a blip in our internet service and when I logged back into it the channels were out of Charleston. If this isn't fixed by the next billing cycle we will be forced to cancel and get the other channels we watch at a cheaper rate from one of the other providers.

Local channel availability is based on your billing ZIP Code and geo location (IP address). Can you confirm with us that your billing zip code matches your location?

I am not getting locals for my area. I am getting Jacksonville locals when I should be getting Tampa Locals. My billing Zip code is correct

It is not working for me as well, getting local channels on the west cost and I live in Ohio. I am using an AT&T wireless home router and I have no control on what IP address they provide me.
Do you get local channels on your mobile phone using the app? It works like a charm for me using the same router but I am suspecting it is using the GPS for location not the IP address on phone.

I live in Ohio and started having same problem. ATT DirectNow are very poor service. I am to get Cleveland and get Dayton. Zip code address is correct (DirectvNow people say everything is correct - trying to find out the problem). My son thinks it is a data base glitch on what zip codes ping to the correct IP address. Someone at ATT messed with something that changed what zip codes go to which local stations.

That sounds pretty good but when I finally got through to a live person he checked my billing zip code and my local zip code and they were exactly the same. His reply was "I don't get it". That's the first thing that made any sense because i don't get it either but I'm not Direct TV Now Technical support.

Everyone note that if you are not receiving the correct local channels please check your phone to see if you get the correct local channels.
With your cell phone, it uses GPS to determine the device location. GPS knows exactly where you are located. Your streaming device uses your IP address for device location. The exception is with Apple devices. They keep up with cell towers and WifI locations used and store into a database. When you use the device it checks the database for location. Two things can take place, either your ISP's IP address is not in the local location based on your billing zip code to receive the local or the geolocation services used by DTVN has just miss-identified you as not being in the local area. You can check what some of the geolocation services think you are located by going to https://www.iplocation.net/
Outside of maybe deleting the app and reinstalling or resetting your router, there is nothing you can do. Your best shot is to complain to DTVN support. DTVN is the only one that can fix this issue. No one here in this forum can fix it. We can only offer suggestions that may or may not work for everyone.
