I have tried all of the suggestions and I still cannot get any audio on the DirecTV NOW app on my apple 4k TV box (the one that came with the DirecTV NOW subscription mind you). I have restarted, deleted and re-downloaded, changed the HDMI-CEC on my TV and everything else. Every other app has sound but DirecTV NOW. Please help!

Why do you help out the Apple tv owners but not the Samsung? There are numerous threads out there from Samsung owners having the same or similar issue but no replies from ATT.

Hi, I have also followed every suggestion in the link provided by this solution response, and I am also not receiving audio when viewing ESPN channels. All other channels are streaming correctly with audio.

Interesting that it’s just espn... try Fox News also.. recently directv now started sending espn and Fox News in 5.1 suround and I wonder if this is related...

I am really sorry to hear you're having this problem. I, also, have problems with no sound but on the app that is on the Samsung 2018 4K TV. For a different TV, I debated over buying the Roku box or the Apple TV. Due to financial considerations, I settled on the Roku box, which was on a special black Friday sale on Amazon.com. Hearing that you've had this issue, I'm so glad I did! Had I gone the same route as you, I'd have no sound on many channels on BOTH TVs, and would have been tearing my hair out by now! Again, very sorry to hear you are having this problem. I understand, and then some, how frustrating it is. I've gone from a few channels without sound on the Samsung TV (built-in Direct TV NOW app), with now, 27 different channels without sound, including some of my favorites. It appears as Direct TV NOW in their Beta-app really need to work harder on fixing these issues, or lower their $40/month fee -- because it is NOT fair to all of us! Roku box works beautifully, by the way. NO issues at all.
