DirecTV Everywhere Streaming Error 1100

I am a new DTV subscriber and getting to know the various features. 

 

When trying to stream anything from DTV Everywhere, I receive the error (1100) that streaming is unavailable.  This appears on every show I have tried to stream.

 

I am just trying to stream into my LAN connected desktop PC which has 5M download speed.  I have installed the DTV player and tried Chrome and IE9.

 

Does this feature of DTV normally work?  Is there special flavor browser that needs to be used?

 

Thanks for any assistance or information.

I was getting the same message yesterday (the 1st) but it's working this morning (Friday).  Why not give it another try.

You're right!  Works fine this morning (Friday).  

 

Funny though, I did notice that while I could not stream to my LAN connected PC last night, streaming to my Android (Razr Maxx HD) phone worked fine last night.

 

Oh well, either way the stream looks good on both devices now.

I have been getting the same error message for months now.  I have been patient about this since it was a "BETA" version. Now it is not. My frustration is now taking hold. 

 

When I call support they put me through to the technical specialist who tells me to log out, restart my browser, uninstall the player, install the player.  56 minutes of my time to find out that the engineering department has it as a known issue and that I am to try back in 48 hours to see if it is working.

 

I can see the trailers for shows I want to watch but have never been able to play the actual program.  This is from my PC that is LAN connected, my laptop that is wireless and my iPhone. 

 

I am a long time customer of DTV, since 2001.  Normally I'm happy with the service I get but this is a big disappointment.

 

Is this an issue with the ISP?

 

Is this an issue with a general setting with my router or modem?

 

I play content from the HBO.GO  and MAX.GO sites.

 

Can someone shed some light on what the issue is?

I just tried the service on the DirecTV.com website and it appears to be working fine, however I could not get it to work on my iPhone 5. note that I tried the website on Windows 8 running via parallels on my Mac.

I'm getting the exact same error msg on my laptop (1100)  a few days ago it worked fine - now an error msg after timing out at 85% on several different shows.  i called tech support and got the usual, reboot, etc. still a problem.  he said he was escalating it and that meant if enough people complain they fix it - otherwise ???

It seems that the settings on my wierless router (Cisco Valet) in my house was my problem.

 

I went outside in the world of other wierless and discovered DTV Everywhere worked on my iphone!

 

So I determined that it must be something local to my network.

 

I opened my router software and found that in the settings that when I turned OFF "Safe Web Surfing"  and unpluged power from the router for a few seconds and pluged it back in.  After I got the wierless symbol back all of my devices; laptop, iphone and PC all were able to use DTV Everywhere without any problems.

It seems that the settings on my wierless router (Cisco Valet) in my house was my problem.

Because DTV farms out the software to third parties that typically won't share their source code, nobody at DTV understands the programs, and we get incompetent technical assistance. DTV needs to get its act together. Clearly, the author of this program knows full well why it freezes at 85%. But you will never hear a cogent explanation from DTV. It is a shabby way to treat the people who pay the bills. Subscriber since 1995, @ $140/month!

I've had the same problem on my PC for 5 months.  I've never streamed a "Watch Online" program to my Win 7 PC, running Chrome.  The buffering times out and I get the 1100 Error.

 

On the same wireless LAN, I am streaming Watch On Phone using my Android tablet. So my router isn't blocking that activity.

Same for me as well. I just wish someone with DirecTV would give us an answer to this problem.

HERE IS THE ANSWER FOLKS....

This is definitely a Windows Firewall issue - so for those of you on a Mac, hopefully you too can resolve this once you know what is causing the problem.  I turned off my Windows Firewall and I could immediately watch DirecTV on my computer - which is actually a laptop connected via ethernet cable (to avoid lip sync issues and stutters).

1. Open Control Panel

2. Select "Network and Sharing Center"

3. Select "Windows Firewall" located in the lower left hand corner

4. Select "Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall" in the top left corner

To find the DTVPLAYER file, I did a Task Manager run and located the process.  After doing a "properties" on the file, it indicated that the file was located at:

/COMPUTER/<your C drive/Users/<your user name>/AppData/Local/DIRECTV Player/NDSPCShowServer.exe  Talk about hidden files.  Good grief.  Anyways, let's continue....

5. Back at the Allow Programs window in Control Panel check to see if "NDSPCShowServer.exe" is listed and if it is, be sure that both "Home/Work(Private)" and "Public" are checked.  If not go the next step.

6. Click on the "Change Settings" button so that the dimmed out "Allow Another Program" becomes active.

7. Select the "Allow Another Program" button

8. If the file is in the list, select it and repeat step 5.  If not - keep going to the next step

9. Click the "Browse" button.

10. Make your way to the location of the NDSPCShowServer.exe file listed above and then select it.

11. Now you'll see it in the list.  Select it and press OK

12. You should be back at the Allowed Programs and Features window.  Repeat step 5.

13.  Close out all windows.

14. Go back to your browser and Directv.com.  Find your show and select it for viewing.

That should do the trick.  Hope that helped folks!

This doesn't work either.  DirecTV streaming video is starting to remind me of Obamacare!  I watched a lot of streaming video via DirecTV until about two weeks ago and now it is the same as everyone else.  Obviously they have a big problem!
