Cannot re-program sound to RC73 remote

Have a genie receiver with a RC73 remote in our media room using a Panasonic projector and Nakamichi AV 500 sound system. It has been working for a couple of years. Yesterday, the remote failed to work the sound at all. Searching for a solution here, I reset the remote and attempted to program the remote to recognize the sound system on AV1 or AV2, first using the code that worked and was recorded when your technician installed the system, then every Nakamichi code provided. None work. What do I do now?

Re: Cannot re-program sound to RC73 remote

Hello @CAPlanner,

Sorry to hear of this inconvenience.  A re-syncing of the remote may help.  It’s good to check the batteries also.  This DIRECTV Remote article gives some troubleshooting steps that should help.

If none of the steps help, please chat with us so we can further assist you.

Thank you.

Re: Cannot re-program sound to RC73 remote

We had previously reset the remote after changing all batteries in every
remote. The hard reset of the receiver did the trick. I pushed the red
reset button twice, pulled the card, and waited until it prompted me
through the setup and voila. It works. Thank you so much.
