Backlit remote not lighting up

I recently purchased an RC73B remote so it would be easier to see in the dark it works like the original remote but doesn’t become backlit when used, any ideas????

The RC73B replaces the RC73 only it is backlit

On the left side of the remote, there is a small button that turns on the backlight feature or turns it off to save the battery. Have you accidentally pressed that button and turned off the backlight feature. Easy to do by mistake.

Thanks for the info, that was the fix. No paperwork with unit when I purchased it, simple sheet saying switch is on left side of remote would be helpful!
