Perhaps. If you were charged any non-return fees (NRF), then by returning equipment those may be reversed if DirecTV doesn't consider it too far gone. No other charges would be reversed/credited. Any returnable models are taken to a participating FedEx or UPS store (not USPS) for your free return. Get receipt showing they took possession.

 

Upon receiving back (not simply in shipper's possession), DirecTV normally reverses any NRFs within 48hrs. When the account is adjusted the collection agency should get an update on the outstanding balance within 2 business days. At that point you discuss with the collection agency to see if that cleared the balance completely or if there is still any amount left over (such as their own fees on the balance ownership).
