Why does My Genie HR44 think my wireless access point uses WEP?
My wireless AP is a current model Apple Extreme. I have previously connected the Genie successfully using my WAP/WAP2 verbose network ID. However, the HR44 is now disconnected from my network, and when attempting to manually reconnect, it asks for WEP security. I note that I can connect via a wired connection, but can not reconnect wireless. Th. HR44 has no problem finding my network, but it seems confused about my security type.
This has happened twice, and the first time, after weeks without access, the HR44 for unknown reasons correctly ID'd my wireless security as WAP/WAP2 and I was able to reconnect.
I have done the usual reset the AP/reset the Genie routine with no change. I have perhaps a dozen devices in my home that connect without issue.
If I am doing something wrong procedurally, I am at a loss as to what. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
