Programming RC73 Remote

I recently switched to Direct TV from DISH.  My old Panasonic Home Theater system worked fine  with the RC73 Remote.  I was able to control my box, TV and audio system at first.  I recently got a new Onkyo audio system and the code isn't listed for my particular model.  There are dozens of models list from Onkyo, just not mine. I found the code online, but there is no way to enter it manually.

I called Tech Support and they told me the Genie Remotes (RC73) cannot be manually programmed to handle other devices, so I need to use the audio remote or get a universal remote.  Is this true?  I hope not, Direct TV already has a million things worse than DISH Network, they don't need one more.....

Thanks

Dennis

Thank you for your question! I understand wanting to program your remote to work with your system. I would like to provide the information.

I was able to locate a great article Program your DIRECTV remote control – Genie. This will provide the information on how to program your devices.

Have a great Friday!
