Re: H25 receiver, old dish

H25 not gonna work with an old dish

Unless you have a swm 8 multi switch handy.

H25 will only work with a swm system

Can you buy them and is it difficult to install.

Re: H25 receiver, old dish

You can buy them but you need a power 29 inserter and the sw8

Switch

I would like to narrow down what you are calling an old dish. Does it resemble a pizza pan or does it

Look like the one from home

Re: H25 receiver, old dish

It looks like a pizza pan. We had Directv at our trailer first. Installed a few years ago. Just got it for our house, don't want to pay for both if not necessary. When I initially hooked the box up it gave me a 775 error code. I can get the dish model number , just need to know where to look. Thanks for the help!

This is what your setup would look like minus the splitter since you only

Have one reciever

Re: H25 receiver, old dish

Ok that is doable. I may have access to a slimline dish, which in your opinion is the best way to go?

Re: H25 receiver, old dish

Note that the Slimline Dish comes in two flavors.  The SWM and the standard.  You need to look at the base of the LNB arm and count the coax connections.  If it has a single connection then it's a SWM model.  If it has four connections it's not SWM and it wouldn't do you any good except it would provide you with HD signals.

Re: H25 receiver, old dish

The Slimline I have access to, the LNB only has one cable coming out. Looks like it has 3 more but they have silver hex head screw caps on them. On the LNB it says SWM by directv. Then what I assume is a model number SL3S4NR2-02. Can someone tell me if this will work with my H25 receiver if we put it up in place of my old dish? I appreciate the help.

Re: H25 receiver, old dish

Yes it will but you also need the 21v power inserter

Re: H25 receiver, old dish

Fantastic, thank you. Will I need to do anything special once it powers up in the satellite settings?
