I Got directv yesterday and everything worked fine. Today my genie won't connect to wifi to use on demand or a anything that requires Internet. I have tried to run a diagnostic but the percentage bar never moves and eventually times out. I have tried resetting my router and repeating network setup but nothing is working. It's not giving any type of error code it just says there was a problem connecting to the Internet. Please test your connection. But as i said earlier the test starts but never runs. Any suggestions?

Try this: On your HDDVR press:
MENU ➜ SETTINGS & HELP ➜
SETTINGS ➜ NETWORK SET UP ➜ RESTORE DEFAULTS ➜
CONNECT NOW ➜ GET CONNECTED ➜ WIRELESS. the receiver will then scan for Wi-Fi networks
and should d find yours. once it finds your SSID, select your network
name. if your network is secured, it will ask you to type in your
password. if successful, you will get a message that says
"congratulations, your receiver is connected to the internet" Note that your SSID and/or password
cannot have any spaces and/or special characters

How is this receiver connected to the Internet

Do as dcd suggest, but do a red button reset after "restore defaults" then do the same again this time choosing "connect now"

Best to start your own new thread using the "Create New Post" button on the main forum page. Your problem may very well be different from the original poster's. With a new thread you can provide more information about your equipment (model numbers), location, and troubleshooting you've tried so far. And this forum software makes it difficult to track or respond to folks that add onto someone else's thread. Thank you.
