Error 771 Satellite 1 loss signal on SNY Intermittent

Error 771 Satellite 1 loss signal on SNY Intermittent

Hi, I get this error when there are no clouds in the sky and the major network channels (ABC/NBC, etc) work fine:  Error 771 Satellite 1 loss signal on SNY.  Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Error 771 Satellite 1 loss signal on SNY Intermittent

please post your signal readings

Fill in your readings for each satellite and tuner on the new post you create, using the example below as a guide. (The example below is only an example and not a form that will appear in your post unless you "cut" and "paste" it.) A properly aligned dish will show 80-90s on most of the relevant transponders (although some will be low or zero):

Your dish is out of alignment.  Best to call DirecTV® and set up a service visit to have them come and re-peak your dish, free with protection plan, otherwise $50.00

OK, Directv tech coming on Saturday.  What Satellite and transponder does SNY (channel 639) come in on? Based on the readings, what did you see that indicated the dish is out of alignment?

Your 99 & 103 satellites should be at least 85 or greater

Re: Error 771 Satellite 1 loss signal on SNY Intermittent

Peds refers to the 99c and 103c signals being 85 plus.  The 99s and 103s signals will be widely varied with some zeros.

Re: Error 771 Satellite 1 loss signal on SNY Intermittent

Directv Tech came this morning.  Said alignment was fine, but that a connector was bad and he replaced.  SNY (639) now comes in fine now.  New readings below.  My question - specifically what satellites are relevant for service delivery to my house in northern NJ for my package (Choice with Sports Pack (NY Sports))?  My reason for asking is that it looks like 99(s) has low signal readings and I want to know if I should be concerned.

101 - all 97-100

Re: Error 771 Satellite 1 loss signal on SNY Intermittent

Those signals are fine. 99s (and 103s) carries only spotbeams for locals, pointed at different cities, so low or even zero signals on most transponders is normal.
