Does remote work through glass?

I'm looking for a new tv stand, many have glass doors.  Will my RC73 remote work through the glass or do I need to open the door?

Re: Does remote work through glass?

Even infrared remote signals usually penetrate through glass doors just fine, as long as your remote has direct line-of-sight to the devices.

Re: Does remote work through glass?

Under normal circumstances like mentioned above remotes should work through glass. However, like with any electronic device, it is reccomended to have it in a well ventilated area as the electronics generate a lot of heat. The receivers have internal fans to help, but don't want it overworking to try cooling it if in a closed off space. So putting it in a cubbyhole in the stand with a closed door, do so at your own risk.
