Connection to HR20-700

Have an HR20-700 Receiver - just replaced my old tube TV with a HDTV. I have (3) coax cables coming from my dish, but only (2) going to the Receiver. I can't get the HD to work. Does it matter how the two cables(SAT-1,SAT-2) connect to the receiver?

No but do you have the BBC module also connected inline to the receiver, if not you need to call DTV for a pair.

Which (2) of the (3) cables from the Dish do I use?

Re: Connection to HR20-700

If you are receiving a signal on both tuners then you have the correct coaxes connected already.

You are using the HDMI or component cable(s) to the TV?

Re: Connection to HR20-700

You need to use the two cables that are connected to your satellite dish.

Were you properly receiving HD channels before you switched TVs?

You can connect the extra one to the BBC on sat2 if you want.

Re: Connection to HR20-700

The old TV was a Tube type (NOT HD) so I don't know if the HD worked previously from this receiver.

The old TV worked fine with this receiver(HR20-700)!

I reversed the connections(SAT-2 & SAT-2) on the receiver and still got the same error message (771 signal loss on SAT-2)

Is it possible I have a BAD receiver?

I get a SD signal from both coax cables when connected to SAT-1 on the receiver.

I know this is an old receiver, but I have a lot of shows recorded on it that I want to keep.
