Why is it that I am not able to watch all of my recordings on the directv app when I am away from home? Some of my recordings can be seen and watched in the Directv app while away from home. However, there are others that cannot be seen in the Directv app while I am away from home, but as soon as I connect to my home wifi the recordings immediately are visible in the app?

I'm having this exact same issue.
I've tried resetting my router, resetting the DVR, deleting the app from my phone and reinstalling.
Its maddening. This is one of the reasons I switched to DirecTV. Hope there is a fix -- if not I might as well cancel my service as this was an advertised feature that has failed to deliver as advertised.

It is my understanding you want to watch your recorded shows when you’re outside your home. I can definitely understand why you want to do this. I can answer this inquiry for you.
In order to stream to your device, you need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network your DVR uses. This is so you can view your recordings on any device in your home.
If you want to view recorded content outside the range of your W-Fi network, you need to download the content to your device. To do this you would click on the Watch App (while connected to your network) > Watch Your DVR > tap On DVR > pick the show or movie you want to watch > Select Download. When the download status bar changes to a play button your content is ready to travel with you. When you’re ready to watch the content, just go to My Downloads and select the show or movie you want to watch.
Thank you for utilizing the Community Forums and have a splendid day.

I’m having the same problem. I have been downloading my recorded shows to watch on my phone while I’m at lunch at work for well over a year so, I know how to do it. However for the last 2 mons or so I have not been able to watch my downloaded shows. When I go to my downloads when I’m away from home a yellow caution symbol (like a street sign) appears over the play symbol and I’m not able to open the show. I called directv about a month ago and they said they will look into it but it has not been resolved. If they don’t fix the problem by the time my contract is up which is in 2 months, I will be switching to Cox. Beside when it rains, Cox’s programming does not freeze like Directv’s does.

I'm having problems on my in home wifi I can download most of my programming but there are a few things that was recorded that it just will not let me watch at all on the app no matter if I'm connected to my in home wifi or not live streaming or just download the programming recorded off the channel this isnt funny when I click on browse for phone the recordings are not there but browse for TV and they pop up and when you click on them at top screen only the tv is check marked I mean this isnt right because my grandfather has uverse in this exact same house and you can view this channel all day on the uverse app if you sub to it so why not on DirecTV ?

The answer that ATT is giving is despicable. What is the purpose of being able to watch my DVR away from home if I have to download it from the same network? That means that if I’m travelling, I cannot watch the shows on my DVR until I get back home. Customers are correct! This was a gross misrepresentation by ATT.

Ridiculous. They have made it so complicated, it’s not worth it if I can’t watch things live. I probably will go back to cable then
