I was having that issue today but gotnitnto work (not sure how). Try going to the desired mix channel. Wait a minute until you see the blue outline appear around the first PIP window. Then use your direction arrows to choose which one to hear audio on.
The issue I had at first was it wanting to activate DTV functions but now it's working. Hope this helps.
