I juat got the Genie receiver and when trying to use the FB app I get the email from DTV but when I click on it I get this message:

An error occurred when authenticating your account.

Can anybody help me with this. My FB account is working fine.

It can take a couple of days for the TV Apps and other internet-based features to become fully functional.

I also have the Genie Box and have been trying for 2 months to login to FB. I got as far as you did but most of the time I don't even get that far. I get the message "Social services are temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." more often than not. I have reset my box and have called DirecTV and got absolutely nowhere. I have pretty much given up.
