Connecting my DVR and my phone

I tried everything. Even though the phone and the Genie are on the same network they wont seem to connect. It's kind of frustrating. Please help

Are you trying to connect your DIRECTV App on your phone to your genie? If so we'd recommend reading up on How to connect your DIRECTV App to your Genie DVR.

I just upgraded to 4k, now I cannot connect to my DVR from my mobile app.  Each client shows connected to internet,  but my mobile app can't see the DVR
