Cannot access HBO through DIRECTV app and HBO GO app

I purchased my DIRECTV account on Saturday and had the CHOICE package installed. It is connected with my MyAT&T account, where I manage my purchases. I decided later after the installation to purchase an add on package of the HBO subscription. I can watch any of the HBO channels on my Genie, but when I tried to pull up HBO on the DIRECTV app it said that I don't subscribe to that channel. I also attempted to sign into HBO GO through the DIRECTV provider sign in using the MyAT&T credentials. This populated an error code that says,

 

"Signed out We're having trouble verifying your access to HBO GO with your TV provider. It appears that your DIRECTV subscription does not include HBO. HBO GO is available free to DIRECTV customers who subscribe to HBO. To sign up for HBO and start using HBO GO, or if you think you received this message in error, please visit www.directv.com or contact DIRECTV directly at 800-531-5000." 

 

The problem is that I do subscribe to HBO now and the DIRECTV app and the HBO GO app don't seem to recognize that I am a subscriber. I have chatted with AT&T representatives who attempted me to reset my password which did not solve the problem. Can someone please help me reach a solution?

We see that you've already tried resetting your password to no avail; have you tried clearing your cache and cookies, using different browsers, and testing multiple devices? We'd recommend reading up on App help & Sign in Solutions for the DIRECTV App.

This issue has been resolved. I spoke with a member of DIRECTV and explained the HBO problem. They had to escalate the situation and fix something on their end because they identified that I was a subscriber. Several hours after the call I was able to successfully sign in. It had me register an account after signing in to the HBO GO app with the TV provider DIRECTV account.

 

In conclusion if you have this problem where you subscribe to HBO through DIRECTV and can get it through the Genie but can’t TV provider sign into HBO GO using the DIRECTV MyAT&T ID for your account, contact DIRECTV customer support and explain this problem and they will have to fix authorization on their end for it to work.
