I need help with 8310 software

Let me try this again. I am new to Blackberry and the CD that came with the device (User Tools) Just puts up a gray blank screen. It does show the Blackberry logo in the upper left corner but thats it. I'd like to take advantage of the desktop software and anything else thats suppose to be on the CD. Can it be downloaded from somewhere? Do I need a new CD? Should I go back to the AT&T store? Help!!!
