Audio

I have the BlackBerry Classic.  When making and receiving calls the audio jumps all over the place and I cannot get it to lock into place which makes having a phone conversation impossible. Handset to headphones to speaker.  This does not happen all of the time. The BlackBerry was working fine up until a few days ago. I have already tried cleaning out the headphone jack. Any solution to this problem? Thank you.

Hi there @BigArtie,

Glad to help look in to this with you!

Just to clarify the situation, do you have these audio issues with only phone calls or all audio in general? You can test this by recording a voice memo and playing it back through the Voice Recorder app.

If this issue only happens with phone calls, then you will want to look at if they occur during specific times or locations that might indicate a service issue in your area.

You can also check out our Troubleshoot and Resolve Tool, a guided step by step walk-through to troubleshoot the audio issues and find the foot cause to fix it.

If you need further assistance, please let us know!

The problem happens when I make and receive phone calls. The audio jumps back and forth from speaker to handset to headphones. I can't get it to lock into just the handset. When the phone was working properly I never used the headphones and rarely used the speaker. I use the BlackBerry Classic for work for phone calls, text messages, email and occasionally the camera. Is there a setting on the phone where I can lock the audio to just the handset? I'd be happy with that solution if it exists. Thank you.

I cannot access the tool because I am an AT&T pre-paid customer.

Ok, my mistake. I was able to access the tool and went through all the solutions. None apply to me. The last page advised me to call customer support which I'll do today. Hopefully they can help me. Thanks.
