Blackberry Q10 Visual Voicemail issues...

I have had this phone for about a month now, and it only displayed 4 of my visual voicemail messages. I understand that the capacity is 10 times that. I proceeded to delete 3 of the messages and placed a call from my landline as a test, but the test message never registered. I have missed so many important messages! Please help!
