not receiving text messages from transfered number

If this is occurring on the iPhone 7, I recommend turning off iMessage. With this service off, have a non-AT&T customer send you a message. If it does not go through, try sending them a message first, and having them reply. If they are able to get through, turn your iMessage back on and ensure you have a data connection.

In addition to this, restarting your device can help. Hold your Power Key for a few seconds, and do the slide the power off option. After the device has been on for a few seconds, power it back on.
