iphone 6s still is not unlocked even though email says it was approve

I've been trying to unlock my iphone 6s for over a week now. When I first tried, I put in the IMEI number listed on the phone when I messaged *#06# (IMEI 1) I was told that it could not be unlocked because there was an overdue payment. (There was not an overdue payment). I went into the at&t store to verify that there was no overdue payment (there was not an overdue payment).

I called customer service to get it resolved they said I was putting in the wrong IMEI number and gave me a new one (IMEI 2). I tried to input this online. After 3 days it was approved. But when I put the new SIM card in, it said the SIM was not valid to be used in the phone (i.e: it was not unlocked).

Re: iphone 6s still is not unlocked even though email says it was approve

Hello @KansanPerson01,

We can definitely provide you with some more information about the unlock process.

Once you've received the email confirming that we've approved and processed your unlock request, you'll need to follow these instructions to complete the unlock for your device:

Using a Non-AT&T SIM Card:
1. Remove your SIM card and insert the new SIM card.
2. Complete the setup process.

Using an AT&T SIM Card:
1. Back up your iPhone.
2. When you have a backup, erase your iPhone.
3. Restore your iPhone from the backup you just made.

If you're having any issues after inserting your new SIM card, please make sure that the SIM card is compatible with your cell phone.

Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
