General Questions

  • What is the difference between the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus?
The iPhone 8 has a smaller, 4.7-inch Retina display and single-lens camera setup, while the iPhone 8 Plus has a larger, 5.5-inch Retina display and dual-lens camera.
  • Is the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus water proof or water resistant?
The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are certified with an IP67 rating, which means that they are fully protected from dust and can also withstand being submerged in 1m (about 3.3 feet) of static water for up to 30 mins.
  • Where is the headphone jack?
The lightning port to charge your phone is now used as your headphone jack. An adapter comes with the phone.
  • They say this is the strongest glass ever. Do I need a case?
Yes. The recommendation is to protect your device with a case, screen protector, and an insurance policy.

Charging Questions

  • Will having a case affect the wireless charging?
For the most part, wireless charging works just fine with a plastic case. Direct contact shouldn’t be necessary to initiate charging.
  • Does the iPhone 8 Plus come with a wireless charger?
The wireless charger is sold separately, and can be purchased on att.com.
  • Do you have to use a wireless charger or can you plug it in to charge it with a typical cord/plug system?
You can charge it plugged in via the Lightning connector (it comes with a USB-Lightning cable and USB charger).

Ordering and Setup

  • Is it easy to 'setup' an iPhone 8 if I have it shipped to my home as opposed to going to an Apple Retail?
Yes! With the new iPhone 8, there is an extremely easy way to complete the setup process!
If you currently have an iPhone, just make sure you update to the latest software version. Then, with the new iPhone 8, you will be able to select the “Quick Start” option for a streamlined process! You may be able to take advantage of our same day/next day delivery and set up option.
  • Can I get it today?
Once the device is generally available, you can order online, and have the option of free shipping, delivered in 2-3 days, or can select the in-store pickup or depending on your location, may be able to take advantage of our same-day/Next-day delivery option.
