@ATTHelpForumsGood morning/afternoon, I'm desperately trying to unlock my iPhone 6s that has been paid off in full for several YEARS now.  I keep getting a message that the device is not paid off and that's simply incorrect.  The device MAY have been replaced via warranty several years ago and I've read that can sometimes cause the issue however there are absolutely zero reasons for me not to be able to unlock the device as I have fully met all terms required to unlock.  Been a loyal AT&T Premier/Business Mobile customer for 20 years now and am struggling to understand how this is such a difficult request to honor.  I've done my part, as always, now it's your turn to help a loyal customer out with a VERY simple request.

Thanks so very much and in advance for any and all assistance,

Name, account and device details will be provided once I am contacted by a formal/official AT&T Team Member.

@Fl_retire Yeah, I highly doubt it's a brand new phone.

@MemphisChris11you are correct that replacing the phone under warranty will mess up the unlocking process. however the computer has no way to know this in the unlock portal.nobody in these forums including customer cares can unlock your phone, its simply a glitch in the system. The good news is its a simple process ,you call at&t and ask for advanced tech support where a real person can look at the account history and manually unlock it.

@QuarryRye The phone was bought in 2017, it may have been new then. @Fl_retire I too wondered how an ATT phone was being sold in Mexico but don’t forget, ATT does business in Mexico.

I’m pretty sure it’s an ATT mexico phone, not a US Mexico phone.

I live in Brazil, my phone was bought in Brazil, and now it was suddenly blocked (IMEI block/blacklist) by ATT MOBILITY. My local service provider informed that only ATT MOBILITY can now unblock the phone.

I need ATT to unblock my phone urgently and hereby reserve my rights to look for judicial alternatives as of now.

Unfortunately, this is a customer to customer forum, not customer support and not the place to get your phone removed from the blacklist. ATT can’t just arbitrarily blacklist a phone without a legitimate reason. How and where did you get the phone? Just because the phone was bought in Brazil does not mean it got there legitimately. An ATT iPhone should not even be available in Brazil. In any event, you can try calling ATT’s international support number or file a complaint with the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The complaint will result in someone from corporate contacting you.

1 From Brazil ?even from the US it will cost you more to litigate than the phone is worth but you cant sue you can only do arbitration that can take years. if not an at&t customer sure you can sue most lawyers are 700 plus an hour and require a retainer is it worth it over a 700 dollar phone?

2. what rights or alternatives? your phone was reported lost or stolen, id tell you to get you money back but since it worked for a short period of time the person you got it from blacklisted it only the person that blacklisted it can get that removed, take it to where you bought it and tell them its blacklisted, if they say they didnt blacklist it then they either stole it or received stolen property, and the original owner reported it
