iPhone 3Gs iPod question

How do you shut off the shuffle feature? I hate it and just want to listen to my music straight through and in order. I have done everything I can think of and it still shuffles.

Touh the top of the screen, right below that bar with the title, artist's name, etc. Another bar shows up with the shuffle icon at the far right. It'll be white if shuffle feature is on. Touch it, and it clears. Shuffle is then off.
