As I understand, Sprint iPhones do not work on domestic carriers but do work fine internationally when unlocked. The Verizon iPhone 5, 5S, 5C will work and is compatible with AT&T's LTE network. 🙂

After further investigation you are correct.  Even though the phone is physically capable just as the Verizon one is, Sprints "unlock" only works internationally but not in the US.  That is despite it being able to, you can not get a domestic unlock for Sprint.

This sums it up perfectly:

As far as I know, within the US, Verizon and Sprint use CDMA technology and AT&T and T-Mobile use GSM technology, which are not interchangeable.  Someone else can verify or refute this.

The iPhone 5c model sold for sprint will not work with ATT. The various iphone models are listed at Apple's site: http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/

If it has been (SIM) unlocked the it will work on AT&T but will not support LTE.

First, Sprint has locked phones that will not accept non-Sprit SIMs.  If it has been unlocked through Sprint or and unauthorized 3rd party service then it will accept any SIM.

The Sprint model supports international LTE but not US carriers.  It will still work on the "3G" HSPA network which is still very good.

I found this thread in sprint forums:

Also a Google search on: Sprint iPhone 5c AT&T unlocked

Should be educational.

This also holds true for verizon on the iphone older Iphones, they will only unlock them for international. If I recall right only the 5 and above are unlocked domesticly

Correct that Verizon's iPhone 5C and 5S will work on AT&T's LTE network. However, Verizon's iPhone 5 is not capable of working on AT&T LTE because Verizon's iPhone 5 uses different LTE bands than AT&T does. The 5C and 5S have the LTE bands that are required for AT&T's network.

Sprint iPhones do indeed use SIM cards for LTE however, it is only able to accept international sims and cannot accept domestic Sims from other carriers in the US. 🙂
