Your unlock request was denied because your account hasn't been active for at least 60 days.

I have an iPhone 6plus for long time (purchased from AT&T directly) and I've switched to Prepaid for more than a year ago. Now I want to unlock the phone. I went to a local AT&T store and asked the instruction. I did exactly what they said.

Today, I checked the updates and the site said "You request was denied. Your unlock request was denied because your account hasn't been active for at least 60 days" and I'm stuck.

I checked the eligibility and it seems good. What should I do?

Hi, @sybaldwin2,

We'd love to help with this. Here's things to know about unlocking a device through AT&T. Take a look at the list of requirements before a device can be unlocked listed on the page. If it matches, please let us know so that we can investigate further.

Oy, James. 🤦‍♀️

@sybaldwin2  call and ask for tech support.  They should be able to verify your phone has been paid for in full and eligible for unlock.  They should approve unlock right over the phone.

I contacted with online chat with AT&T. They solved the problem right away!

Phones on postpaid accounts have to have at least 60 days of active service before they can be unlocked.  For prepaid, it’s 60 days.  Are you the original owner of the phone and have had an active AT&T account for the required time period?
