Wifi all of a sudden not working on iPhone 6

Hello, my iPhone stopped now working when connected to wifi. I have to disconnect wifi for my phone to work which means I'm going through data like water. It is not the router as my husband is not having an issue and my iPad works just fine. Can you help?

Hello @Saburke7!

I am sorry to hear you are having issues connecting to your Wi-Fi network on your iPhone. I can definitely understand how this can impact your data usage. It will be my pleasure to assist!

The first thing you will want to do is restart your phone, as many times, this can fix possible glitches. To do this, hold the Sleep/Wake button until you see the slider to turn off.

Another effective step, is forgetting your Wi-Fi connection. Please go to Settings > General > Wi-Fi > select your Wi-Fi and choose Forget this Network. After this step, try re-adding your network.

If this does not work, resetting network settings can help in correcting this problem. The AT&T Device Support is an excellent tool, which provides tutorials designed to walk you through the process.

The AT&T Troubleshoot & Resolve Tool is another handy resource, which you can access online. After logging into your account, please select the option Wi-Fi as the issue, and follow the guide.

I hope this helps in rectifying the problem. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Have a fantastic day!

My  family's Iphone 6s stopped working with AT&T wifi equipment (modem/router) but kept a connection with the other wifi devices.  I had both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands turned on.  When I turned the 5 GHz off, my Iphones worked perfectly as did the rest of my devices.  I did this by entering 192.168.1.254 into a web browser on a device that was connected and "disabling" the 5GHz band.  Note: I found this ip address on the back of my modem/router and yours may be different.

I really hope this helps!

I first called AT&T and was transferred to someone who wanted to charge me $15/month for 12 months minimum ($180!!!) to fix it even though he was very confident he knew what the problem was.  Shame on you AT&T!  Charging customers to remotely configure your equipment is disgraceful and will be remembered and shared as often as I can.

Apple update iOS 12.0 also caused att Wifi  to stop working. Ignoring and restarting Wifi network,as suggested, worked.
