WIFi calling IPhone 5s At&T

Does anyone know why I can't use wifi calling on my iPhone 5s? I made sure my phone was updated, tried connecting to different wifi, tried restarting my phone, still nothing. I don't even see the wifi calling option under "phone" in the settings. Help

Hello @Ssmithh,

Wi-Fi Calling is a wonderful feature which helps boosts signal strength.  I will be more than happy to help you with Wi-Fi calling!

At this time, Wi-Fi Calling is not supported for the iPhone 5s.  This feature is currently offered on the iPhone 6 series, 7 series, and the SE. I do apologize for the inconvenience this is causing.  There are some other devices which offer this as a supported feature, which can be found here.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.  Have a wonderful day!

Other carriers can do it for the iPhone 5s. Why can't att? It's a solid phone and when your poor service lacks in areas like Mountain House, CA its valuable to many kids with those phones.

Att did not get FCC approval for the 5s.  The oldest iphone with Wifi calling is the iPhone 6.

So Sprint and T-Mobile did have FCC wifi on iphone 5s but ATT didn't. Got it! Your reply sounds fishy to me.

They are fishy when other carriers were able to do the wifi at the same time as 5s release. The article is from Oct 7th, 2015. Update it and do everyones kids a favor like your competitors. It's an easy fix since it's already been done for the beta phones at that time.

Thanks

Neither ATT, Verizon or Apple are going to waste 5 minutes on a 5 year old phone when probably very few are still in use.

Wifi calling also requires HD voice, which Is not on the 5s

I'll say it again, it's fishy. The iPhone 5, all models have HD voice. As you mentioned in a previous post that the beta version of the iPhone 5 had wifi phone.

Regardless of the age of a phone and know the possibilities of the phone should be a matter of customer service, not upgrades. I'll choose a different carrier with better service in the area next time that doesn't walk away from kids that drop their phones often.

Beta versions test ALL sorts of things that they don't keep and remove from the OS.

I've enabled features in Beta iOS and they removed the option for the feature, but it kept working for me because it was already turned on.

What's in a Beta is irrelevant to what they release.

When on earth did I mention anything about beta version on iPhone?

And if you aren’t going to read the links I post, at least read the post itself.

The iPhone 5s is OLD.  Updates COST MONEY.

You can purchase an SE for $150 and get HD voice and Wifi calling and have a new phone with faster processor.
