Voicemail

My iphone 5 will not let me retrieve VM.  I have turned it off, done a restart in settings and still not working.  People are able to leave VM messages and have asked several people to call my phone but it will not le me retrieve them nor does it show I have a message. It just shows a missed call. Help!

Hello @rrose33!

Voicemail messages are certainly a staple for daily life, I know for sure I depend on my mailbox for missed calls and important information. I’ll be glad to further assist you on this matter now!

Since you are able to receive left messages, the issue may be elsewhere. To start, I would check the mailbox. To do this, please press and hold the ‘1’ on your dialpad to call the mailbox. Once you access your mailbox, it may have you proceed to setup or change settings.

Since you already rebooted the device, I also recommend resetting network settings to refresh your network connection. This will not reset your phone, but will erase Wi-Fi passwords. You can do this by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

You can also try to refresh the network by tapping your Airplane mode On and back Off. This will temporarily turn off your network connection. Once you toggle this setting, please attempt to leave yourself a voicemail from an alternate phone, then test receiving the message.

If you are unable to receive the voicemail messages, I would try out our handy Troubleshoot & Resolve tool for further steps to go over.

Please let us know how it works out and have an awesome day!
