Voicemail Not Set Up

I have an iPhone 6 with the operating system 12.1.2 and for the last several months I haven't been receiving voicemails. My dad will call me and then message me that it says, "The person you are trying to call has a voicemail box that has not been set up yet." Which makes absolutely no sense because I have had this phone/phone number for years and my voicemail was working perfectly fine just a couple months ago. I don't know what happened, maybe it was because of an iPhone update? I am clueless as to how to fix this issue and I would really like my voicemail back. So any and all advice is appreciated. Thanks!!

Thanks for reaching out! Allow us to help. You mentioned the problems started happening after you updated your device. When checking your voicemail, does it prompt you to set it up again? Or, are you able to view it, despite not receiving any voicemails?


You can also troubleshoot this issue by using our Device Support page. It should already be set to the Voicemail section, beneath Device Topics. If it isn't, you'll need to select the brand and make of your device to begin. On the page, you'll see Fix voicemail issues, and Set Up Voicemail. Go through both and see if this helps. I need to look up my current texts, and voicemails using my computer instead of my cellphone.  How do I go about doing that?
