Verizon iPhone 5C to AT&T?

Hi all,

A few years ago I bought an iPhone 5C compatible with Verizon (post-paid) at Best Buy. I paid full price for the phone.

When I left Verizon for T-Mobile (prepaid), switching providers was as simple as taking the Verizon SIM out and putting the T-Mobile SIM in. Everything worked as it should.

When I upgraded my iPhone 5C to an iPhone 6 earlier this year, I gave my iPhone 5C to a friend who uses AT&T (post-paid). The phone works on the AT&T network, but he's limited to 4G data only — it will not connect to AT&T's LTE network.

My question: Is this phone not compatible with AT&T's LTE network, or is there something my friend needs to do (contact AT&T or something else) in order to get the LTE to work?

The  iPhone does not have APN settings to change.

While the iphone 5c 5, and 5S have 3G and HSPA bands, it does not have compatible LTE bands with ATT (2,4,5,17 and later 30)

Sorry it took a month to answer, I just found this post.

Probably your friend needs to change out APN settings in Verizon iPhone 5C.
