Unlocking iPhone 5
Hi,
I cannot unlock my older iPhone 5 which is serviced by ATT for over 5 years.
When I enter information in https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/ , it identifies the IMEI number as Apple iPhone 5 Model A1428, but returns error: "We're sorry. We can't unlock this device."
The device has never been replaced by either insurance or warranty exchange. I am confident to meet all eligibility requirements listed here: https://www.att.com/esupport/article.html#!/wireless/KM1262649?gsi=FzohtCSx .
Thank you in advance for the help

I suspect At&t is purging all old records as this is a common complaint for all phones of this age.
File an FCC complaint and cross your fingers. If Apple no longer supports a device it may not unlock with its servers.
Be aware as 5G is introduced and 3G is phased out, the phone may no longer work.

Thank you very much. I will give ATT a call once more and then file an FCC complaint. But your point with 5G is good.
