Trying to send email to xxxxxxxxxx@txt.att.net or xxxxxxxxxx@mms.att.net but text doesn't come thru

I am trying to set up Gmail forwarding (to send me an alert text message when a new email comes in ) but the first step is failing. i am attempting to send an email to xxxxxxxxxx@txt.att.net but nothnig is ever received. When i tried it on my other family members phone, it works.

i cannot figure out if it's my iPhone setting or an AT&T setting.

Any suggestions?

This may help

Why not just set a notification on your Gmail on your phone?

If you have multiple emails, you can set gmail up in its own app and not the combined inbox on iPhone.  (Which I detest).  I don't like any of the built in email apps on any phone.  I always use an email specific app so I can mark spam.

I use Inbox for Gmail.
