Hello @AZiPhone5s,

Welcome to the Community Forums! Thank you so much for reaching out to us with your text concerns. I will be more than happy to point you in the right direction. I have a couple of articles to help prevent these texts and calls.

The first helps with reporting unwanted texts and calls. The second article gives steps on how to register your phone number on the Do Not Call Registry.

I hope these help. If you have additional questions, please feel free to reach back out to us. Take care and have a great day!

I recently switched to prepaid service and we are inundated with spam text messages....I went to the FTC website and the calls are not illegal but you can give them the info anyway.....

(Hopefully someday it will changes because obviously the phone number I’m using now was sold to these companies )

If you get 10plus a day and you first forward the info....than go back and block the number (and sometimes 10other numbers this place also text too) then fill out a form on the FTC site ....it can take hours....

I seen a post stating you can get another number for free which I don’t really want at all ...or buy a service from at&t to stop something that I didn’t cause and they possibly benighted from.....

If anything changes please let me know because I’ll have to look elsewhere for service

Spam text has nothing to do with whether you are prepaid, postpaid or what carrier you use. It has everything to do with your number somehow having been given out publicly. Be careful where you post it.
I have used AT&T prepaid and postpaid, Verizon prepaid and postpaid. I get more spam now as a Verizon postpaid Customer than I ever did using AT&T. It has something to do with the group text limit, which AT&T still has set at 10. Verizon is 250.
I can get anywhere from 2 to 10 spam text messages on any given day. During the pandemic I would say this got much worse. Offers for insurance, debt consolidation, car warranty, as well as a bunch of other junk.

🐾 I don’t work for AT&T or any carrier. Never have, never will. My replies are based on experience and reading content available on the website. If you posted personal information, please edit and remove.
