Hello @p70795

When your device decides not to work as usual, it can be a problem. Allow us to lend a helping hand!

Have you checked to see if your device is updated with the latest software? Have you updated your carrier settings? What iPhone are you currently using?

To check for Carrier Updates, go to the Settings App > General > About. If there is an update available, tap the option which will upload within a few seconds.

If you continue to have issues with your mobile data, you can access our Device Troubleshot & Resolve Tool/ by selecting which iPhone you have, then click onto Internet underneath the Service/Internet Issues option to follow the steps provided.

We hope this helps, and enjoy the rest of you day!

I just got a new apple X R. And switched from Sprint to ATT.
Speed test is all over the place!
Getting on any site takes longer than usual. Sometimes I even time out or get "no internet connection "

I have this same issue. Just switched from sprint because of lousy customer service and slow data and found AT&T is not any better at all. Fed up with it after only a month..

Hi, @p70795,

Did you check to see if your iPhone needed an update? If so did it help?

When you're at home, is your device using its cellular data or are you connecting to your home internet? If the latter, the number of devices connecting to Wi-Fi could slow your data connection down.

Please let us know.

My phone is up to date. I use my home internet system. I know other devices can slow the system down. My problem started when I switch from Sprint to ATT phone service.
My phone never shows more than 2 bars in the house and only has one most of the time.

Hello, @p70795,

The bars are your wireless connection. What does the "pie slice" show? That would tell you of your connection to your home Wi-Fi. If it's not showing, you may not be connected to it. Try these steps:

  1. Select Settings.
  2. Select Wi-Fi and make sure it's toggled on.
  3. You should be able to see nearby Wi-Fi networks under Wi-Fi. Select the network associated with your router.
  4. You will need to enter the password for your router to connect, unless you've disabled it.

Let us know if this helps you connect.

You are getting too basic. I know all that. Bottom line 1-2 bars, half a pie, speed readings all over the place. ATT has bad coverage in my house with my internet. Sprint had very good service.

Hello, @p70795,

If the iPhone has poor speed while connected to your home Wi-Fi and no other connected device is moving slow, too, the issue is probably in the device. Do this to clear the cache:

  1. Go to Settings>General>iPhone Storage.
  2. Tap on Manage Storage.
  3. Select a file in Documents and Data.
  4. Drag unwanted files to the left and click on Delete.
  5. Click on Edit, tap the option Delete All wipe off all of the app's data.

Before you do this, make sure you have your username, passwords, preferences, settings, and so on written down. If clearing the cache doesn't help, you'll want to test it your Wi-Fi speed via a different phone. If the other device shows has a faster speed than your iPhone, you'll want to contact Apple for further assistance.

I am having the same issue. We have had ATT 1000 MBPS service for a long time and everything worked really well, no issues ever.  Soon after my husband and I switched to Iphone XR's in August we have had lagging and slowness on all of our devices connected to our internet.  We've had 2 techs come out.  They switched out our router and our fiber optic box and they can't detect any issues when they run their tests.  They suggested changing our network name and reconnecting each device from the newest to the oldest one by one to trouble shoot which one is causing a problem.  Well, our iphones are the newest so we connected them back first and things seemed to speed up a little for a day and then back to slow. We never have more than 2 bars signal strength even when we are standing next to the router.  We are ready to switch service because this is so frustrating.

We work from home a couple days per week and can't work with the slowness on our laptops.

I’ve been having connection problems with my iPhone 6 for a few months. Can’t get a connection despite all my bars showing and my ‘pie.’ Showing. I run a speed test but that takes a few minutes to find a connection also. All my apps will Time-Out with no connection. Driving me crazy.
