No visual voicemail/wants mailbox number
Hi there,
I am having serious troubleshoot issues with my voicemail. For about a month or two now, visual voicemail has not been an option, even though my phone is 1.5 years old and it's never been an issue. When I'm in Phone and I click voicemail, it calls a voicemail system and asks me to input my Voice Mailbox Number (No idea what that is, tried my cell number, it's not it). This is becoming an issue because I'm looking for jobs and missing calls from employers who can't leave voicemails.
So, I guess, how the heck do I figure out my voicemail box number and restore voicemail system since I'm fairly certain leaving me a voicemail isn't even an option when people call me. And how do I get visual voicemail back? I've googled a number of things and tried like resetting my network settings, which did nothing. I'm .25 seconds from taking it into AT&T but if there's a quicker way that people know of I'd rather try that!
Thanks!

Hello Community,
Although this is an older thread, we still see a lot of folks viewing this post so we wanted to provide a response. Voicemail has definitely evolved over the years, and now with Visual Voicemail, it's better than ever.
If you are having issues accessing or setting up your voicemail, we have a very detailed and thorough support site specifically for voicemail and it should help you resolve all your concerns.
A couple things to note with voicemail, especially Visual Voicemail:

Before you can fix this problem you have to look at a few things, 1) what type of phone do you have 2) If possible, did you update to kit kat 3) does your phone even display a VVM icon? When it asked you for an Voice Mailbox Number you should try 0000, or the last 4 digits of your cell phone number. Did you recently upgrade? If so, the rep who was handling your upgrade might have removed VVM.

access your vm manually by holding the 1 key on your dial pad. Go through the promts to reset your vm password. Then acces VVM icon and it will ask for new password. Simply enter the new password you set and voila... If that does not work please call us and we will reset your VM profile.

You're right--OP doesn't explicitly mention "iPhone" in his/her post...but then again, there is nothing in the post from which one can definitely assume that an Android phone is in play here either.
Also--unless Android has a voicemail feature also explicitly and commonly referenced as "Visual Voicemail", I think it's safe to assume that VVM is an iPhone-only feature...and since OP explicitly mentions "visual voicemail" in his/her post, I think it's safe to say that he/she is talking about an iPhone.
