New IPad

I got this IPad from AT&T a few weeks back (free with my iPhone 7) and I'm getting around to plugging it in. But it's not showing the dead battery or the charging battery sign even though it's been plugged in for a few minutes (at least 5 minutes). Is it just beyond dead and it has not reached to a point in can turn on? Or what?

Apple covers warranty directly on any of their devices. If it's truly a hardware issue and dead, contact them for warranty support. I would try holding HOME and POWER together for up to a minute, see if it forces a restart.

I would. But there doesn't seem to be a home button. There is a sleep button, putting a USB chip in, and buttons to change the volume.
(Yes I've tried holding the sleep button down)

@Bookgeek19 The round button on the front is the home button. If it doesn't have one, it's not a iPad.

I have NO IDEA what a USB CHIP is???
