Low Battery
Why would my iPhone 6 all of a sudden have to be charged more than once a day? It's about 3 yrs old.

If you call Apple, they can run diagnostics on your device as long as you're connected to wifi, and they can tell you if it's hardware and if it's not hardware, they'll walk you through steps on things to help the battery life. If it is hardware, it's $79 to get a new battery put into your phone. Just make sure to back it up so they can't make you lose anything!

I'd guess because the batter is "about 3 yrs old"...
If you had any other device that had the same battery for 3 years and it wasn't charging, I'd think you'd probably replace the battery, right? It might be time.
Or it might be some new app. But I'm leaning towards the battery.
