LTE speed maxing out at 4mbps

I just recently upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge to the iPhone 8.  After some SIM card confusion, I had a new SIM card activated for the iPhone, but I only get 4.5mbps max download speed on LTE (full bars).  A rep at a local AT&T store had me reset my network settings and I just went through online support and had my network refreshed, but I am still only getting 4mbps max download on LTE.  Today I upgraded to iOS 11.0.2 but still only get 4mbps down on LTE.  Is anyone else having issues with LTE speeds on their iPhone 8?

Hello @darklink,

Welcome to the Community Forums.  I would be worried as well if my speeds became considerably slower.  I will be happy to help!

Thank you for informing me you have already tried a network reset and a network refresh through us.  Another area to check is your plan to make sure you are not experiencing slower speeds due to your plan.  For example, if you are on the 2GB Mobile Share Advantage plan, the speeds may slow once you hit your 2GB limit.  With the Unlimited Choice speeds are capped at 3G.

Please use our Troubleshoot & Resolve Tool for further troubleshooting.  Make sure you are logged into your account, and choose Internet for the issue.  Please run through all the steps completely.  I hope this information helps, and please have a wonderful day!

My plan is the 6GB plan which has been unchanged since I got my iPhone 8.  With rollover data, I have not been close to my data limit and I am currently still only getting around 4.5mbps download speeds.  I live in NJ but travel for work and have tested my connection in several states. Regardless of how many signal bars I have, my LTE connection has never reached above 4.5mbps.
