Now I'm n Germany and the ipad2 AT&T is kaput lol. No signal. Now what? Contact AT&T via pc or get a new micro sim? If new sim, who with for travel within western Europe?
You iPad is not carrier locked like iPhones are. You can purchase a prepaid SIM card there in Europe to use in your iPad. Plus its cheaper to use a prepaid card in the iPad when traveling internationally than pay ATT's International Data plan.
Ahhhhhh...! Jetlag sucks - makes for panic attacks when the brain is still hours behind. Many Thanks for your kind reply and reminder of the ipad2 capabilities. Got a tmobile refill card today in heudelberg. 2GB 39€ refillable. Nice!!! Thanks again
I went to The Official apple store in Austria where the sales people were kind enough to give me a free A1 card for 1GB. Stuck it in and am still using the freebie.

So they sell prepaid micro sims?
Going to Austria in July, that would be awesome if I could do the same thing.

Just take a microSIM card cutter with you. Then if you need to can use a regular SIM and use the cutter to make it fit your iPad.
